Beatriz Cosme is Project Management Specialist in the Open Lab Team since 2011.
She coordinates and provides guidance on immigration, work permits, Health and Safety, Human Resources and local accommodation requirements for the smooth implementation of Open Lab projects, including liaising with external consultants.
She joined GSK in 1999 and has experience in Business Development, Marketing, Human Resources, Procurement and, more recently, in R&D. As part of the R&D team, Beatriz worked in the Biology Department giving support to operational activities.
Beatriz has a degree in Psychology and two postgraduate courses, one on Psychology applied to Organizations, Univ. Oberta Cataluña; and the other on Project Management, Univ. Alcalá de Henares.
Luis A. Maldonado
Luis joined to GSK in 2001 and works for the Foundation from 2011 giving in Operations and Logistics issues.
Lola holds the position of Open Lab operations Manager, supporting the implementation and monitoring of Open Lab projects, meeting compliance regulation.
She coordinates contractual negotiations for approved Open Lab projects .Lola joined Smithkline Beecham in 1996 as a Screening Scientist for natural product identification.
She moved into the Compound Management arena in 2000 where she was a key contributor in the implementation and change management of processes to enable drug discovery in Spain, pioneering highly customer focused supply chain operations; Lola worked in the design and implementation of the first Drug Discovery factory that foster he industrialization of the screening activities.
Lola has an extensive background in Early Drug Discovery with particular emphasis in Sample Management, Lab Automation Supply Chain and Process Improvement initiatives.
Lola holds a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Head of the Tres Cantos Open Lab Management team
Félix Calderón started his career in industry in 2007 as a medicinal chemist working in the Diseases of the Developing World unit at GSK. Since then, he has held different leadership roles in anti-infectious and anti-inflammatory areas within the organization. He has a broad experience working with external partners and a track record of implementing and delivering new collaborations across diseases. Prior to GSK, his background includes a B.Sc. from the Autonoma University of Madrid and training in bioorganic chemistry at the University of Turin (Italy), the Spanish National Council for Scientific Research (CSIC, Ph.D. awarded in 2006), and computational chemistry at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). He is editor of the American Chemical Society’s Infectious Diseases journal and board member of the Fine Chemical Group of the London based Society for Chemistry and Industry (SCI). In 2018 he was appointed Head of the Tres Cantos Open Lab.
Jose Miguel Coterón

Cote is accountable of all the matters related to official documentation concerning TCOLF Governing Board and Trustee meetings, Governing Board and Trustee membership, and project reports. Cote obtained a PhD in Organic Chemistry at UCM.
After three years as post-doctoral fellow in Europe, and three more years as post-doctoral fellow at GW Tres Cantos, he joined GW as Investigator participating in projects from diverse areas like antifungals, antimalarials or kinetoplastid diseases.
His expertise includes Molecular Recognition, Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Synthesis and Carbohydrate Chemistry. Over the last few years, he has acquired expertise in Compliance and Risk Management.
